Seeking info on Dyver / Diver families living in Hingham and surrounding area in 15th to 17th century. I am descended from the Cambridgeshire Divers, who probably derived from Norfolk. John Lazell b 1619/20 possibly in Hingham, UK
My Ancestor, John Lazell was born abt 1619/20 in England. He came to Hingham, MA, USA and appeared in land records in Hingham, MA, USA in 1647 when he bought some land. In 1649 he married Elizabeth Gates, dau of Stephen and Anne Veare Gates who came aboard the Ship "Dilgent" in 1638 to Hingham, and were among the flock of Rev. Peter Hobart who led his group to Hingham, MA, USA. Rev. Hobart married John Lazell and Elizabeth Gates and baptised many of their children. I am trying to locate the names of John Lazell's parents and the county and town he came from. I would be indebted to anyone who can supply the information. There was also a Henry Lazell who surfaced in Hingham, MA, USA in 1637 but later went elsewhere, but think that they might be brothers. I thank anyone in advance for any help you are able to give. Sincerely, Barbara
