My great, great grandparents are Abel & Leah (nee Bevan) Steley. Leah Bevan was born 25 January 1819 at Nantyglo Monmouthshire and Abel Steley was born 21 September, 1818 also at Nantyglo. They emigrated to Queensland with their family (Maria, Joseph, John, Robert, Richard and Mary) in 1863-1864 on board the 'Ariadne'. Their son John Bevan Steley is my great grandfather. I have quite a lot of information about the family and happy to share. Also, it would be great to make new family connections. Kind regards, Gay.

Does anyone have any information on the price family in nantyglo.I am trying to find out about my grandmother sarah jane price's parents. I believe her mother was spanish and her father was killed while returfing the nantyglo football pitch a horse was involved apparently it kicked him to death. I am trying to find information about the Jones family who lived in Nantyglo about 1870. My wife's grandmother's name was Lilian Jane Jones and she was born 26th May 1887 unfortunately I do not know the names of her parents. She had a brother named Joseph and two sisters, one of whom was named Charlotte. The other sister Rose was born in 1877 and lived in Brynmawr Avenue, Nantyglo until her death in the 1960s. Her daughter also named Rose lived there until the 1980s when she moved to Bromsgroveto be near her son Clive Stevens.
