red mail Johns family Garndiffaith
I would appreciate any info on the Johns family especially the children of Samson (born 1857) and Rose (née Lockyer, born 1860 in Somerset). Does anyone know anything about the emigration to Australia of the eldest child David Samuel (born 1885) and his wife Emily (née Tipton, born in 1889) between 1913 and 1929, with their daughter Vera (born 1913) joining them out there in 1927? David's siblings were: James 1887, William Edward 1889, Lizzie 1891, Martha (Pat) 1893, Samson 1895, twins Rose + Frederick 1896 (died at birth), Samson 1895 and Stanley Reginald 1905. Thanks. Glynis
red mail Abersychan Vicars
If anyone knows how I can find out whether there was ever a vicar with the SURNAME James at Abersychan I'd be very pleased to hear from you. I am trying to find a date when a Barbara James lived at the vicarage. As I can't find her on a census she could have lived there before 1841 or possibly lived elsewhere in the census years. She could be a member of the vicar's family or a servant. All I know is that she once lived there and wrote her name in the front of a book of common prayer which we have. Perhaps someone might know of a list of clergy for this church.

Lewis Luke Griffiths and William Griffiths 1843-1870
This is what we know so far... 15th March 1868, aged 24, he married Ellen March, at the parish church, Mamhilad. Residence at the time of the marriage was Cwmnanddu and father was William Griffiths. Ellen was a 21 year old spinster of the same parish. Her father was Thomas March. Died 11th February 1870 at Cwmnantddu, Trevethin, aged 27, from Typhoid Fever. A couple of days later, Ellen Griffiths nee March (his wife) gave birth to a son, Lewis Luke Griffiths jnr. (16th Feb 1870) living in Butlers Row, Pentwyn, Abersychan. What we want to know..... Where was Lewis Luke Griffiths senior born? (It would have been approx 1843/44). Where was he in 1851? He was not on the Abersychan census. Where was he in 1861? Again, not on the Abersychan census.
red mail Rev. Henry Harris and Family of Abersychan
The Harrises arrived in Pennsylvania in 1837, sailing over from Bristol, England on the ship "EDEN", July 3rd 1837. Henry was 45, and his wife was 40 when they arrived with daughters Mary, age 7, born 1831; and Phoebe, age 1 y.o.; and son Ebenzer, age 10. They originally settled in Minersville, Penna., then settled in Blossburg that same year. Rev. HARRIS was a native of Habersuchan (sic) (NOTE: there is no such place and is probably Abersychen), Monmouthshire, Wales. Rev. Harris later went to Providence, RI to work, and was fatally injured by a boiler explosion, living but a few days after. His wife, Mary Harris, Sr. died March 14th 1862, and is buried in the Old Blossburg Cemetery. Daughter Miss Mary Harris, Jr., a daughter of the Rev. Henry Harris and Mary Harris, Sr., married John Cook, of Stockton-on-Tees, on May 24th 1851, in Union Township, Tioga Co., Pa.

Children are Charles MORGAN b.1842, Sarah Ann Morgan (my wife's ancestor) b.24 Dec 1843, James MORGAN b.1846, Mary A. MORGAN b.1849, and Rachel MORGAN b.1850.
