Mary Jeffreys- parents Edward Jeffreys and Honora Jeffreys nee McLean Cavan Ireland. In 1891 Mary Jeffreys married James Duff in Milngavie, New Kirkpatrick in Scotland and gave her age as 22 and her parents as above but deceased. She and James then had 6 children - Elizabeth 1894, Edward 1895, Peter 1898, John 1900, James 1901 and Mary 1904. Her husband James died in 1905 at 25 Slatefield Street Dennistoun, Glasgow. The three younger children were then resettled as orphans in Beauly, Invernesshire. We can find no trace after 1905 of Mary or the three older children. Out there somewhere may be a whole branch of our family that we didn't know existed. Can anyone shed light on these missing people. We cannot trace any deaths or marriages. Perhaps they returned to Ireland. Can ANYONE help. Christine

I am looking for information about the McGregor family who arrived in Glasslough after 1902. George McGregor worked as Lard Stewart for the Earl of Caledon. He had 3 sons and 3 daughters, George, Jeanie, Robert, Maggie, John and Agnes. After george's death in 1924 his wife and daughters Jeanie and Agnes returned to Scotland. His son Robert remained in Belfast and I do not know what happened to the other children.

Have just discovered my 4 or 5 times Great Grandfather was born in Kilmore, Monaghan, married a Jane Forsyth in about 1817 and had his first child there William Warner Barnes born circa 1818. He was a Stone Mason here in England but may have started his working life as something different. His descendants were brought up in the Pentacostal/Presbyterian faith so am assuming he was of that faith too. This is the first chink in a solid stone wall we have been trying to break down for about 3 years so, if anyone has seen any of these names on registers for the Kilmore area I really would love to hear from you. I hope to come over in the new year but am hoping to have narrowed things down a little more if I can.
