Trying to verify the birth of a George Monilaws said to be the brother of Alexander born in Liberton in 1757 toJames Monilaws and Margaret Boag or Bogg. Other info would suggest George was born in 1781 but cannot find record

I would be glad to have any information on the Torrance family who lived on Drum/Dalkeith Road from 1841-1881 (according to the censuses). The head, Robert Torrance, was born in Gilmerton around 1814, and his trade was a carter (sand and coal). His wife was Jannet (Janet) MacLeod born around 1815. Their children were: Elizabeth c.1834; Jane c.1836; Janet c.1838; Robert c.1840; John c.1842; David c.1844; William c.1850; Catherine c.1851; Isabella c.1856; Ann c.1859. There may have been more, but these are the names found. Robert, Sr. must have died between 1871 and 1881, as Jannet, Sr. is listed as a widow.

I'm stuck now at Florence Horsburgh born 29 March 1685 in Liberton. He married Janet Fogo in 1716. I think his parents were William Horsburgh and Jean McCleary from the OPR records and onviously I know some of his descendants. Can anyone link into this or provide me with any information regarding where the family are buried, where they lived, occupation etc? Various surnames listed for lookups as these are others I'm researching.

This William appears to have married twice.The second marriage in 1916 in Glasgow was to Elizabeth Macpherson.His first wife and any offspring of that marriage are unknown.
