red mail Frederick Vincent COWDEROY
Am wondering if anyone can give me any information as to whether a regiment would have a listing of pension claimed or record of death for someone serving in WW1. Basically, my grandfather, the above, disappeared off the face of the earth. There were some future sightings of him but no death cert ever found. Obviously, he changed his name completely, but am wondering if the Army Supply Corps with which he served in France in 1915 would have any later life or death record of him under his real name. Would welcome any suggestions.

red mail Grimsdale marriage to Robins, Collins and Rogers
Through wandering off line,I came across Daniel Mascall Grimsdale, son of Thomas Morden Grimsdale, born 1835 in Uxbridge. He married Anna Maria Robins in 1856, and after her death in 1905, married again in 1906, to Mary Torry Collins, who was 52 and had been his previous wife's companion. Meanwhile, of the few children born to the first marriage, Daniel Herbert Grimsdale born 1864 married Ethel Gertrude Rogers, daughter of Edward Dresser Rogers. They had two children though the family were never shown together on the early census available. The children were Gordon Edward Grimsdale who trained to be an officer and was a Major General and marrid Breta May Merrylees from Australia and Gwendolen Mary Grimsdale born a year later in 1894 at Uxbridge, who married Leonard Arthur Hawes born 1892 and serving as a Major also. They had one daughter in 1925. DH and EG were living at Montague House, Uxbridge in 1927 and for many years before. Daniel did not outlive his step-mother Mary T, dying in 1930. George Ebeneezer Grimsdale, DH's brother married Blanche Harriet Milbank born 1867, daughter of Frederick Henry Milbank. Nora Louisa, daughter of DM, married Ebeneezer Herbert Harvey Robins who may have been connected to her mother's family. Anyone interested would be welcome to write.
