I am researching the Bates line in my family tree. My great grandfather was Thomas Henry Bates, born 1866, Kentish Town, St. Pancras. I believe Thomas was an only child, not finding any other records. He was a Merchant Seaman (ships cook) and think he died at sea during WW1. His parents were Henry Bates, born about 1842, Sharnford, Leicestershire and Lucy Ann Bush was his mother. Census records show them living in the Hinckley area around 1861 to 1881. Looking for any information on the Bates Family. Henry's parents were James Bates and Harriet Bilson/Billson. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Myers of Kentish Town
I'm looking for George Thomas Myers (b1870 Halloway London) he resided at 11 Piercefield Street and worked as a Publican in 1891 at the time of his marriage to Annie Sargeant. They were married Parish of St Martins in Kentish Town. George's father was also named George and deceased at the time of his marriage. I have had no luck finding him in birth records or census records to find his parents. George and Annie had nine children, their 5th child being my grandfather Henry George Myers b1906 Hornsey. My family came from Germany / Rhineland, and settled in Kentish Town in the mid 1860s. They lived at various addresses, including Circus Road, and Weedington Road. The brothers were, Philip, Bernard, Michael, Joseph and Peter and Nicholas, and a sister, Caroline. The father was Jacob. Does anyone have any links to the MAY family, or any prominent German bakeries in the area at that time?

I'm looking for some information on my family who lived in Kentish Town and were builders. My grandad died in 1928 while pointing a wall in this area. The whole family was invclved in the business but I can find no information about it. The family lived at 39, Ashdown Street, St Pancras at the time of the 1911 census. Can anyone help?

My great grandfather was called Edward A Grayston. Born about 1883, died 1949 Ipswich Suffolk. He married Maud A Macready in 1911 in Ipswich and had 3 sons. My Grandfather thinks Edward may have been adopted but we cannot be sure of this. I have found an entry on the 1911 Census, stating his birth year as 1887 and he was boarding with his in-laws in Ipswich. It states his birth place as Kentish Town, but I still cannot find a record of his birth. Can anyone help with some info please?
I am interested to find out more about Mary Smith and her confectioners business at 65 Weedington Road,Kentish Town.The business was run from there from the mid 1890s until around 1962.Mary was born in Somerset in 1857(her maiden name was Gardiner).She had 3 daughters and was a widow by 1901.One of the daughters may have carried on the business after her death.I know she was still alive in 1940 as is still listed in the Trades Directory for that year.My 2x Gr Grandfather John Gardiner was her brother.

I am looking for information about my great Grandfather Charles Jonathon Packer born 1847 Bedminster Bristol married to Sarah Jane Mills also from Bedminster. They moved to Kentish Town and had a family Ruth Mary Janie 1876 (my grandmother) Charles 1874, Elfrasia 1875, Florence Elizabeth 1878 -1981, Gwendoline Eliza 1880, Walter Samuel 1883- 1963 ( in Portland Oregon) and Ethel May 1886. He was still living in Kentish Town in 1901 but I can find no record of his death or mention in the 1911 census.

When did it close down and where would the parents of these children be, if sent to the poor house would it be the St Pancras Work House Somers Town? Hi everyone. I am seeking information about descendants of George Robert King (born Kentish Town on 24 Sep 1820 and christened at St. Pancras Old Church. His parents were almost certainly Robert King and Elizabeth Andrews who were married at the same church on 10 Feb 1806. George Robert King married Harriett Harris, born in Somerstown about 1821. Their wedding was in 1844 in Newington, Surrey, but the births of their first children were in Kentish Town. George was a builder and so were most of his sons and some of his grandsons. George was my great great grandfather and I am in the process of constructing a family tree of his descendants in the hope of finding some living relatives. History of the Railway Tavern, 5 Sandall Road, Kentish Town. John and Jane Dellow, Licensees from 1 Sep 1899 - 1907. Daughter Alice Emily Dellow was murdered 29 Aug 1901. Pub now demolished, stood on the South side two doors from the Francis Mary Buss School for Girls. On the North side there is now a petrol station on the corner of Camden Road. The Camden Road railway station is now gone and the line is now the channel tunnel link line and has been widened to accommodate.

Looking for information regarding my Boston ancestors who came from Kentish Town, St Pancras, Middlesex, circa 1865+. In 1881 my great great grandparents family were living at 15 Durnford Terrace, Kentish Town. They were William & Elizabeth Boston (neé Knights) and their children: William John b.1865; John George b.1867; Annie Elizabeth b.1873 (my great grandmother); Robert Frederick b.1874; Amelia Jane b.1875; Marth Mary Ann b.1878; Florence Emily b.1880. In 1901, my great grandmother(Annie 'Elizabeth' Boston) was living at 13 Tovey Place, Kentish Town. She was a domestic servant. On the 5th March 1901 she had a baby boy (my grandfather) Sydney Harold Boston. He was later adopted by the Marsh family of Marshside, Chislet, Kent who christened him in Chislet Church in June 1901 adding their surname to his: Sydney Harold Boston-Marsh.
