red mail Richard William Carter, b1800s
I'm trying to find more about Richard William Carter and his ancestors. He married Sarah Josephine Blay in 1899 and I have the details of his children (Richard, Henry and Frederick). There are so many Richard Carters around that it is difficult to establish a definite link to a birth record (possibly b1851), or maybe a previous marriage as he described as a widower on the marriage certificate. His father was also Richard William Carter. So I have a chain of three Richard William Carter, son (b 1893), father (b abt 1850) and grandfather (b ?)!
red mail Mabel Violet Langley
Does anyone have any information on Mabel Violet Langley born c. 1890 in Islington to Edward and Annie, who were originally from Northumberland? Mabel was "indicated" in a divorce case in 1914 as having given birth to a child "on or around 6 October 1913" after having an affair with my great-grandfather, Joseph William George James Perry. Mabel is referred to as Violet in the divorce papers. Both she and Joseph (sometimes referred to as Harold) were actors. Any info on her or the fate of the child would be most welcome. Thanks

They had seven children - Mabel, Gwen, Annie(Dot), Eleanor Ruby,Margaret, Edith Nell and Walter. Both Eleanor, known as Ruby, and Margaret emigrated to the USA where they worked for their maternal uncle William Wright in his bakery in New York. red mail George Searle b 1876c
I'm trying to trace the family of George Searle. He was born in Islington in 1876 and according to his marriage cert, his father was a farrier, also called George Searle. However, I cannot find his birth or any 'definitive' census records for him (apart from 1911). There are only two George Searle's born in 1876 in Islington, one illegitimate (his mother; Ada Elizabeth Searle) and the other to Charles and Maria Searle! I guess it could be possible he was the illegitimate birth and 'invented' the father...?! Or 'George' was 'an uncle'...?! He went on to marry Annie Johnson in 1905 in Balham, and was a Coastguard in Norfolk at the time of marriage. He later moved to Wick, Scotland in the 1920s and then to Dorset in the mid 1930s. (I do so wish these people would stay still!!!) Anyway, if anyone can shed any light as to his parents/background, that would be great. Many thanks x
red mail MARSHALL with Nunn
