Also victor charles stevens who my gmother lived with and had two boys Charles - my late father and william his brother. Victr was known as charles and had a wife and family in romford essex but lived over the piano shop at no.2 mount row with my gmother and the boys this would have been between 1914 - 1920 approx.

Hi all, I'm trying to find a marriage for Frederick and Louisa Ford. Louisa's maiden name may have been Stanton and at the time of the 1911 census they had been married about 20 years with only one surviving child (Elizabeth born 1903)out of 5. Both Frederick and Louisa give their places of birth as Hoxton but I've had no luck in finding their marriage record or their entry on the 1901 census. Frederick Thomas Reid died whilst serving in British Army in India in 1903. Anyone know how I can find the exact date of his death? I have two possible dates and know where and of what he died. Have tried Googling "British Army Deaths in India" without success. Anna

Elizabeth Amelia Parrott was born on 13th May 1868, at 121 St Johns Road, Hoxton Old Town, Middlesex, and her birth was registered in Shoreditch. She was the daughter of Frederick Parrott and Amelia Chatterton. Known in the family as Amelia, she appears in the 1871 census as Amelia Eliza b Shoreditch and possibly in the 1881 as Amelia E b Hoxton. Can anyone tell me what happened to her please?

His son William married Elizabeth Dowley on 7 Mar 1841 in Hackney and on their marriage certificate it states that John Sadler was a Labourer. John and Elizabeth also had other children; Elizabeth, Henry Augustus, Amelia, Ann and Stephen Sadler. Any information on John and wife Elizabeth and their descendants would be appreciated.

Seeking information on my g-grandfather Edward WRIGHT, born 29 Jan 1885 in Hoxton, Middlesex, London, England. It is known that he joined the British Army as early as 1907, which eventually brought him to Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Address listed as 29 Chilcot Street, Poplar on service records, as well as a sister Margaret. On another service record, there is a Mrs Forsyth of 29 Chilcot Street, Poplar listed as next of kin. I would assume that Edward Wright's sister Margaret and Mrs Forsyth are one and the same, however I have no further information to go on, and searches have turned up nothing. William Taylor born 1859 in London, moved to Hitchin with his mother Eliza and his brother Herbert when their father William also, a whitesmith, died in 1861.Frederick William the older brother does not seem part of the family in 1871. Eliza, a Hitchin girl, then married a John Woodward, a brewer's labourer. The family grew to include two Woodward half brothers Frank Harwood and John, both born in Hitchin. Sometime after the 1871 census, William, an errand boy,disappears. The story goes that he came home one night,took off his stripey apron and ran away to sea. Does anyone have any clues to his later whereabouts? I have a huge Taylor tree that I can share.

Emma gave birth to my Great Nan, Lillian, in the late 1800's who went on to marry a man called either William or George LAUGHLIN. I am researching the BRINTON family (my maternal grandmother's maiden name), and in particular Robert Brinton (b. 1806?) of Aske Street who married Rachel Lewis, nee Lake in St John the Baptist, Hoxton on 6th April 1847 and both had been previously widowed. The parents of Robert Brinton are John Brinton (deceased in 1847) and Rachel ?, (1781-1859). In November 1847 a son was born to Robert and Rachel, registered as Henry, but baptised as Robert Henry BRINTON (my great-grandfather), and another son, George, was born in 1855. I have found Rachel Brinton and her two sons in the 1861 census, but not her husband, and have been unable to find a registration of death. Robert may also have had three 3 sons from his 1st marriage, one of whom, William born about 1827 married Caroline Davis and lived at 1 Greenmans Lane, Islington. Robert, his father John, and William were all brass founders, Robert Henry and William's son of same name both became cabinet makers. I would be interested in any information relating to the Brinton's of Hoxton.

Alexander BONELLA, born Kilrenny, Fife in 1770. arrived in Hoxton about 1800. He appears to have already married Elizabeth. Their first child, another Elizabeth, was baptised at St.Leonards, Shoreditch in 1802. Others followed; William (1804), Ann (1806), Harriet (1810), Maria (1812) Mary Jane (1818). He was a carver and turner. Elizabeth died in 1836 and was buried in Bunhill Fields with her daughter Harriet. In 1836, Alexander remarried Jane CURTIS or BOOKLACE. She died in Shoreditch Workhousein 1853, but Alexander had already died (in his sonÕs timberyard), in 1851. His son continued to live in the area, but his grandsons moved to Bethnal Green, to Croydon and to Kensington. The other families into which they married were STEPHENS, ATKINSON, ROWLAND and MIDDLETON. I would be happy to exchange information with anyone researching these famiies.
