My great grandmother Susan Sullivan entered Rosslyn Hill school in 1860 by obtaining a Blake Scholarship. I am trying to find out about this scholarship. Her father John Sullivan was at the Chatham Barracks in 1861 census. I have contacted the Historical society in Medway and the reply was that it could have been an army scholarship. Richard Whitthread married Agnes Crout, both presumed from Hampstead area born 1700's. Three girls born to them (that is known of), the middle one was Elizabeth born 1792 in Hampstead. Elizabeth married in 1810 at St Nicholas Cole Abbey. I'd like to hear from anyone researching this family.

I am looking for information on Maud Ward the daughter of Henry Ward b. 1857 Old Street, London and Rosina Barker, b. 1856 Finsbury St Luke, Middx. Maud had two children, Jack Davis Ward b. 1917 and Joan D Ward b 1921 although she never married. From at least 1917 she was running a Wardrobe (clothes) shop in 199 Belsize Road, Hampstead which could have been called Madam Jacksons but I can't be sure about that. If you have any information about Maud and/or her shop, I would love to hear from you.

In the Ecclesiastical Parish of St. Peter and Municipal Borough shown as Adelaide and Parliamentay Borough of Hampstead Claude C Gilpin age 20 was shown as working along with several others as Grocerts Assistant. Address given as 46 Englands Lane. He went on to marry Emily Caroline Bryant Tobacconist of Lordship Lane East Dulwich. He late served during WW1 in the Royal Garrison Artillery. My great-great grandfather James Woodland (wife Elizabeth nee Hall) was an Inspector in the Metropolitan Police 1861-1878 and lived at 30 Fleet Road Hampstead with his family. He died in April1878 at the Police Station Rosslyn Hill Hampstead. I wonder whether anyone has a photo of either of these places. James was not buried in the local churchyard (ST John's) as the churchyard was closed for burials by then. Would anyone have any idea where he might be buried?

John Dawson, b.1808 Bradfield, Berks married Mary Laidlaw March 1841 @ St.Marylebone, Mdx. They moved to Hampstead where Mary said she was born c.1811-1815 the daughter of RANDALL LAIDLAW. No where can I find a baptism in Hampstead or the surrounding parishes for Mary. Her father (a Cordwainer) was already deceased at the time of her marriage.
