red mail Marraige ADAMS-Francis James & HARRIS Sarah Jane
I am searching for when and where my grandparents were married. The 1911 census states that Francis James Adams (b 1895 in Lymm) was an errand boy aged 15 at that time. I have also found a WW1 Record for FJ Adams last residence Haggerston which says he was awarded the Military Medal in 1918, fighting in the Hampshire Regiment. I also know that his son ( I think his first ) was Francis C Adams born in 1921 in Middlesbrough. Francis James Adams married Sarah Jane Harris (b 1896 Rugby) but I do not know where and when. I am looking for information about this family and specifically the greengrocer business. Very keen to get photos of the area that might show the business. Also relatives called Moore owned shop(s) in area at the same time.
red mail Wounded soldier WW1 with DCM
I have a photo of a soldier in Hospital Blues taken by a Photographer from Hackney. He is a Corporal with the Royal Berkshire Regiment and is wearing the Distinguished Conduct Medal. A wound can be seen clearly on his left cheek. Believe he would have been hospitalised or convalescing in this area or possibly Hackney. The photo is a family group possibly taken before he had to return to war. Must be some local connection as my Grandmother is in the photo and she was born in Hackney and lived there all of her life. Can you help? Thank you.
