Le Heup
Florence Selina Le Heup born c1886 christened Bethnal Green, married John Stephen Chalk in 1911, Clapton, London. Mothers maiden name appears on some of children's birth certificates as French. Florence could read and write so it isn't a case of her saying at the registration of childrens birth "my name is French" referring to the Le Heup name and the registrar putting in French instead of LeHeup. Does anyone have these two people in their family tree or have knowledge of the change of name. Thank you.
red mail John Lyons looking for birth information
Mystery great grandfather John Lyons Born 1865 in London Married twice first 1888 to Louise beech father shown as Robert Lyons coalman Married second time 1914 to mary Ann Matilda Perry father shown as John Lyons coalman deceased. I have the certificates Died January 1923 in hackney. I have the certificate Can only find a John Lyons born in 1865 to a John Lyons and Ann Ward but this is in Poplar east London. I have bought a couple of birth certificates for a John Lyons born in 1865 but the names of the parents are wrong Is the Poplar one correct as poplar is not too far from Bethnal Green Also there is a death for John Lyons who was married to Ann Ward but showing his occupation as a tin plate worker There are several things that dont add up and have been trying to find this link for several years. Any help would be gratefully received
red mail John Bird 18501910 married with Susan Fiddy on 2 March 1860
Hi there, John was the son of Henry and Susan was the daughter to Robert. John was a labourer and could read and write; the marriage transcript is unclear but appears Henry was a tobacco maker and Robert was a wine cooker (???). Cant find any records of Susan predating their marriage and she appears in many trees as Susan Wey (like the river in Guildford) so wondering whether Robert was a step parent. Both Henry and Robert are living when the marriage happens and witnesses are John Leonard or Leopard, illiterate, and Harriet Leonard or Leopard, illiterate.

Sailors (1914-1918 War) of Bethnal Green.
Recently a photo of five sailors was passed onto me following the passing of a relative. One of the sailors is my father - born and bred in Bethnal Green . I believe that during WW1 it was common that 'call up' papers were sent out in areas, is it possible the remaining unkown sailors could be lads from Bethnal Green ? From my father's service record he was posted to HMS Vernon on the 25th January 1915, followed by a posting to HMS Victory at Portsmouth on the 28th of January until the 20th April 1915. One of he sailors - with a small beard - hat ribbon has the name of HMS Victory displayed. The photograph was taken at a studio in Portsmouth - date unknown. My father served on HMS Agincourt from the 28th April 1915 until the 27th Febuary 1918 - during the Battle of Jutland. Please don't hesitate to make contact if one of your descendant's could be one of the four unknown sailors of Bethnal Green. I would be happy to forward - via email a copy of the photo - please make known your connection.

red mail Henry John Reid
I am looking for details of my great-grandfather Henry John Reid, born in Bethnal Green roughly 1895. He ended up in Plymouth, Devon around 1912 after joining the Royal Fort Artillery. Marks and Annie Rodgun
My husband's great-grandparents were Abraham Mordecai Rodgun, known as Marks, and Chasia (or Chaia), known as Annie. They lived at 54 Church Street, Bethnal Green in 1901. According to the census, they had 3 children at that time: Morris (my husband's grandfather), Lewis and Mary. Their daughter was actually Millie, not Mary. Morris married Annie Cohen of Linden Buildings. Millie married Samuel Kalman Frumkin. He had a tobacconists/sweetshop in Great Titchfield Street. The Frumkins moved to Watford in 1940 and then emigrated to Brooklyn in 1948. The families were all Jewish emigres who fled the pogroms in Russia. Marks died in 1930 and Annie died in the Stepney area in 1938. Can anyone add any more information, please?

Charlotte Sophia Parsons - Daniel Fenn.
Charlotte married Daniel 1904 in Bethnal Green. Daughter born the following year. The 1911 census records Daniel and daughter living with his mother and siblings, no wife. But the census indicates Daniel had two children, one living one dead. Who is the child that died ? Charlotte is missing from the census but,in 1919 she was the defendant in divorce proceedings and that same year gave birth to a son Joseph Robert Fenn ! The birth certificate does not record the name of the father. My main interest is the missing child. I have searched the usual sources and, unfortunately without success.
Help appreciated in tracing above who were parents of Henry John Green b. abt 1820 in Bethnal Green. Thanks.
red mail Salmon and Maynards
Here is a mystery my fathers supposed mother was Rebbeca Maynard baptised 2 Feb 1887 Pools Square Tower Hamlets She had a sister Elizabeth Maynard Baptised 19 July 1888 same address. The 1891 census has only Elizabeth on it and the 1901 census has only Rebecca on it. There is a marriage certificate dated 1906 that has Elizabeth Maynard and George Salmon. BUT!!!!! in 1913 there is an afidavit signed by William Edmund Angar Salmon stateing that he is the George on the certificate. My father and his brothers and sisters never knew an Elizabeth they thought their mother was Rebecca. I cannot find a marriage certificate for Rebecca. I also cannot find a death certificate for Elizabeth. I would be most grateful if anyone can shed any light on this.
