red mail WW2 pow Birches Farm Deeping St Nicholas
During WW2 pow's were sent to work on farms etc. I am a grandson of an Italian pow. At the end of the war he returned home, possibly oblivious to the fact that he had left my grandmother behind carrying his child. I would assume he is possibly no longer with us and my grandmother died years ago. I don't want to cause any scandal or unhappiness for any subsequent family he had in Italy but would love to know what became of him and if I have any Italian relatives. The only info I have is that he worked on Birches Farm in Deeping St Nicholas. His name was Guido Pererto and he was originally from Castrovillari Cosensa. If anyone has any records of the pow's, ideas on how to trace him or his family or if by some miracle there is someone who knew him or of him it would be brilliant.
