Hi, we are researching the Watson family of Scotter. Specifically John Watson whose father was Joseph Watson shopkeeper/miller of Scotter. His mother was Ann Elizabeth Cherry of Wheatfields Oxfordshire. He is on the 1851 census as John Watson but later called himself John Cherry Watson. Oddly there is also a John Cherry visitor who is also aged 8. Any links would be appreciated. Thanks
red mail Storm
Looking for descendants of Storms of Scotter and Butterwick. Wonder whether connected to Storms of Winteringham.
red mail Robson
traced the family back to William Robson, born about 1715, who married Elizabeth Webster 7 May 1740 in Scotter, and there I'm stuck! Any help to nudge forward would be appreciated. I've trawled through the Scotter Parish Registers and a couple of the surrounding parishes. William + Elizabeth's children and the next 5 generations all lived in + around Scotter so were they newcomers?
