red mail David Cuppleditch , Artist and Photographer
David, born in Louth 1946, was a local historian, cartoonist and watercolourist whose many books are readily available in stores everywhere. The internet contains many references to his books, but little or nothing about David himself. It might be that so far nothing has been published. His watercolours appear regularly in auctions as do his cartoons. He studied at the Grimsby School of art and then went to Oxford to study at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art . If you have any further detals about David I would be pleased to hear from you.

Can You remember...
Norman Brown b abt 1928/32 - lodged with Tom Bramwell in Louth 1951/2? Had friends Dick -Norah - Joe - Joycey and Wally? Are you the son/dau of a Norman Brown from Lincs/Derby/Lancs/Yorks? or are you a friend who remembers Norman and David Bramwell being friends...Or Joycey Bramwell? All I have is a photograph & vague recollection of talk Norman may have got into a bit of trouble at one time, possibly going to prison in those early days. Please think because we could be related and although I had loving upbringing that I would not have changed for anything, I also have a part of me that needs to know my roots and what became of the handsome young lad on my photograph. I expect only that and would be happy with those answers. Thank You for reading my plea. Other names of interest to me are: Price - George Attrick m Jane Hollis 1876 in hull. Bramwell - Thomas b 14/2/1900 m Clara Evelyn Price b 1915. Haines - connected thru Bramwells - William & Mary. Watson - Liza. Allison - Agnes m Francis/Thomas? Bramwell. Morris - Joseph m Kezia Russell mk Deeping. Russell - William and Mary b out of county Fell Monger. Cunningham - Margaret b 1798 m Andrew Wilson. Mobbs/Moggs - Letitia b 1845 - Possibly a Gray. Gray - James(sometimes named Mobbs/Moggs m Bethania/Betsy Smith). Smith - Moses - m Eldri Gray. Hitchings/Itchins- Joseph b 1844 m Letitia Mobbs, had children Clara-Rebbecca-John. Tindle/Tindall - Alfred with Letitia on 1881 census + children. Hollis - Rubin/Rheubin b 1830 m Grace Alice Wilson b 1830. Drake - Walter b in Norfolk - Mum Dierdre? m Isabel Price 1920's. Carrara - Frank b Italy 1905? m Rose Hannah Price 1920's, had sister Antonia Carrara, Frank had a bit part in the movie Ben Hur by the way. Most of these people were travelling folk...Bramwells were Coal Minors.....And the Family of Letitia's were: 3 Children called Hitchins (Clara died in workhouse age 10 lincoln I think but records are lost of who else was in there at that time) Rebecca and John. Rebecca took the name of Tindle I believe, the same way all the Tindle children: James - Richard - Annie - May/Mary and Clara all took the name Cunningham when she wed in Grimsby 1886 to Joseph Cunningham. Maud Cunningham was born abt then so she was probably the only legit Cunningham. Clara went on to wed Reubin Price 1906 Grimsby. They lost a son Felix who drowned in 1916 in river head of river Ludd when they lived in Maiden Row Louth and Clara's sister May/Maisie lived same Row m Joe Stayton/Stainton. Either Clara's or Reubin's mother also lived in Maiden Row 1916 and had a connection with the name Pettinger (a young lad, Percy? living with Felix's nan and playing with felix when the accident happened) not sure what but interested to know if your a Pettinger and have info. The nan would be Letitia Cunningham or Jane Cunningham, she remarried 1903 after George Price shot himself after a scandle. But she may have wed again between 1903 - 1916 so unsure of surname. As you can see I have lots of stuff....but its nice to tie up loose ends and add things others have found or swap information...Please Contact me
