St Nicholas, Colchester 25 Nov, 1792 and apart from George, they had the following children in Stamford and Lincoln: John b.1797, Priscilla b.1801, Euphania b.1804, Mary b.1806 and Joseph b.1808. Has anyone come across the wonderfully named Alexander William Parkins Johnson born in Lincoln in 1874 and the son of Alice Johnson nee Parkins and Alexander William Johnson. Alexander junior was baptised at St. Martins in 1874 and then I can find no other trace of him. Alice Johnson nee Parkins died in 1901 and Alexander senior died in 1906. Alexander senior was a cutter and grinder and lived in central Lincoln. Does anyone have any information to share. Many thanks

I am looking for any information about Albert Johnson and Edith Dawson who married about 1900, They had Six Daughters, Alice, Anne, Jessica, Lily, Rose and Edith Vera (1912- 1981). I have been told that Albert and Edith were killed in a motorcycle accident in about 1919 leaving the children orphans. I have also been told that it is possible that the orphans then worked at Sandringham House. I know that Edith Vera, after a short stay at Sandringham was sent to London where she was fostered or adopted. She married William Henry Pople in 1933 at Wilsden, London.

Their youngest child, Fanny born 1850 is my g.grandmother and her birth certificate has mother's name as Eliza Beard. Thomas Sharp, born 1812 in Barkston, was saddle maker and they had five children together most of whom were born in Lincoln. Does anyone know who she and her family were?

My gt gt gt grandmother Rachel Lilburn was born in 1824 in Lincoln (census 1841/51). She was the second wife of Joshua Pratt b 1789 Bedford. They had two known children Emma b1851 and Joshua b 1857. Rachel died in 1864. Does anyone have access to parish records for the Lincoln area as I am trying to trace her family further back. I believe her father may have been John Lilburn b 1786,a tailor, married to Ann and that there was a sister Hannah and probably other siblings (may be a William and Sarah). My Great Grandmother was Betsy Ann Clayton, born in 1869 in Lincoln. At the time of the 1881 census, she was living with her father, Henry-born 1847, in Edlington Lincs, also her brother George 14yrs, sisters Lucy 9 yrs, and Kate 7 yrs. Also living with them was Eliza Richardson 21 yrs a servant from Scampton. Their address was 4 Danes Passage, Lincoln. Her mother Eliza Ann Tindall, had died by this time. Her Father Henry later remarried to a Fanny Hall, and had one more daughter, named Frances. At the time of the 1891 census Betsy Ann was living in Stoke Rochford Hall, as a servant. (This is near Skillington where a lot of my Johnson ancestors were living) Betsy Ann later married my Great Grand father, James Johnson and eventually settled in the Kirton area near Boston, Lincs. One of their sons, James was my Grandad. Any information about Betsy Ann or other family members welcome. Also any information about Stoke Rochford Hall appreciated.

Of these sons, four went on to be church organists, including John in Lincolnshire Cathedral, Robert in Durham, William in Lancashire, James in Flintshire, Wales...all despite their father being a mere painter/glazier. Have no information on the father of James Young or Ann's relatives. But there must be something in their background which influenced this. Does anyone have background information on these men?

In the 1841 Census, ROBERT and MARY ROBINSON were in Lincoln (St Martins Parish). Robert's occupation is listed as a butcher. Their family at that stage were: Mary (daughter), Charlotte, Louisa, Elger and Herbert. Another son was born - CHARLES approx 1844. CHARLES ROBINSON emigrated to NZ early 1860. Elger married Martha and had one known daughter, Louisa. They moved to Staffordshire . Herbert moved to Staffordhire as well. The two brothers were joiners, Martha became a Grocer.

Stained glass window in cathedral at Lincoln lists William Townes, D.D., as rector of cathedral 1510. Any information appreciated.
I am tracing the family tree of the Chruistopher family who, I think, originated from Maxey in Northants. A branch or branches of the family moved to Lincoln.
