I am trying to research my Houghtalin ancestry. I have reason to suspect the Houghtalins may have been part of the group of Palatines settled in Ireland who later migrated to the US and Canada. References suggest that many Irish Palatines were in the following areas: "Court Mattress (Court Matrix), a colony of Germans, whose parents came out of the Palatinate Twenty families settled here, twenty more at Killiheen, a mile off; fifty at Balligarane, about two miles eastward; and twenty at Pallas (Pallaskenry), four miles further.
