Edward LA*RENSON, one of my gg-grandfathers, was a lighthouse keeper in Renfrewshire, Scotland, by 1820, but his death notice states he was born in Queens county, about 1786. Given the gaps in the Irish records, I am finding it difficult to trace his parentage or even place and date of birth. Can anyone help?

I am looking for the above surnames. Mary BROPHY married Thomas HOEY / HOYE in 1849. Catherine HOEY, daughter, born in Queens County, in 1853, married William EASTMAN in Naas in 1879. Elizabeth, sister of Catherine, was at the wedding. Other siblings were Mary, Bridget and Thomas. Catherine EASTMAN (nee HOEY) died in 1926 in Dublin. Her daughter, Kate HEGARTY (nee EASTMAN) was present at the death. Kate HOEY married John Patrick HEGARTY in 1903, and died in 1935 in Donegal.
My grandfather HUGH LALOR/LAWLER was born in Laois c1841. he was married in Halifax WEST YORKSHIRE IN 1868 and his father was shown as PATRICK, deceased. There were family links to the wider Abbeyleix area in the past. If anyone has any suggestions about searching I would be very grateful. Shaun.

I'm looking for information on the families of my 2x Great Grandmother,Catherine FLEMING,(1836-1921).She was born in Arles/s, formerly Killabban Parish in Queens' County,now Laois, the daughter of James FLEMING and Catherine KEATING,from the same Parish. Seeking to confirm that she had these siblings-Finton,Francis,Christopher,Bridgett,Mary,James,and possibly a Thomas. Catherine emigrated to Victoria,Australia in October 1857 on the "Mindoro" with her brother Patrick.She met up with Henry BARLOW,an English goldminer,and settled down with him in the Rushworth area,bringing up their 10 children.I would be grateful for any information.

Native Place was Queens Co. and he was a shepherd. His family had lived in Kilkenny for over 300 years. Arrived in 1823 in Australia aboard the ship "Prince Regent" Iam unable to find a connection from Irish ancestors to australian ancestors as I cannot find a family link such as his birth certificate or his parents marriage certificate. I am looking for information about my G Grandfather, James Gardiner and his family. He and his brother were tried, convicted and transported to Tasmania in 1840. They came from Queen's County and their records mention that they left behind a widowed mother, two sisters and a brother. I haven't been able to find any other information about the family in Ireland. A record of their appeal mentions a few place names - Bordwell, Gorthaclea and Coolbally but I'm not even sure if these are towns or parishes. Any clues gratefully accepted.

Anne Graham was born abt 1836 in Queens (Laois) County, Ireland. She left for Australia abt 1857 and married William Connell at Castlemaine in Victoria in 1858. On her marriage registration her parents are shown as James Graham and Sarah Hyland. Jame's occupation is shown as Steward. I am trying to trace where in Co. Laois she may have come from and any advice would be appreciated.

Looking for information on Nicholas Bergin born approx. 1808 Queens County who married Elizabeth Barry abt 1840 at Queens Couty. They had four children before they migrated to Victoria Australia then had two more both born at Springvale in Victoria. Nicholas parents were Matthew and Ann Bergin, Elizabeth's parents were Thomas and Elizabeth Barry nee Mortimer. Nicholas died 1891 and Elizabeth died 1879 both at Oakleigh. Would love to hear from anyone who could help me with information on this family. They came to Victoria approx. 1852/1853, particulary details regarding parents and if Matthew and Elizabeth had any siblings.
