red mail Dorothy Allen - Sedgley / Dudley - (Sedgley Park - Lancashire)
First of all I have to apologize, my English isn't quite well. My name is Michelle and I am from the Netherlands. The reason why I have this quest is because of my grandfather (83 years old). He is desperately looking for "Dorothy Allen" who lives /once lived in Sedley (England). The main problem is that it has been a long time ago; they met eachother late 1945 / in the beginning of 1946. My grandfather was a soldier at that time and served in Wolverhampton and Brandwood. Resently my grandmother died and a day before she passed away she told my grandfather to find his "old love" Dorothy again. Her "instruction" doesn't let him go. Can you please help me to get some more information about Dorothy? My grandfather's name is "Willem Willemsen." (In the army better known as "William"). Born on 15.04.1924 - Arnhem, The Netherlands What I know about Willem and Dorothy is: - They met each other in "the dancing" late 1945 / beginning of 1946 in Sedley. - Dorothy was a few years younger then Willem; 18 or 19 at that time. - A few years after Willem was send to Indonesia, Dorothy wrote him a letter; she married and had a baby girl. Willem can't remember the surname of her husband. - Dorothy's address during 1945/1946: 38 Greenway, Sedgley near Dudley. Thank you in advance and I hope to hear from you! Michelle, The Netherland

I am trying to find info on my grt.g.father WALTER LAMBERT -born 1855 Walter Parker in Basford, Notts. The last record of him I can verify is the registration of his son George Lambert - Sept.30, 1884 born in Starling, Bury and registered in the sub-district of Elton. I can find records of his wife Ellen's death in Salford, 1891 and previous to that his mother's death in 1888(Salford)& father's 1886 Prestwich. (At the time of the 1891 Census his children are living with his sister & brother in law) Any ideas where I can search next? (Armed forces / burial records - where can I find those? Perhaps he emigrated? Any help very much appreciated.
