red mail Hillock Lane
I am looking for information on Hillock Lane, it was a tiny village not far from Whitefield. I'm particular interested in the Methodist Chapel (Wesleyan) that was there. Apparently it was demolished to make way for the motor way. Can anyone help?
red mail BRIGGS Family - Pilkington/Whitefield/Unsworth
I'm researching my family - the BRIGGS family of Lancashire. Prior to about 1840, most of the family were from Pilkington, now part of Bury. These include John & Ann Briggs, b~1791/2, and their family Walker(1825) & George (1825). Also Charles & Mary Briggs, b~1819/1821, and their family William (1841), Sarah Ann(1843), Robert (1845), Elizabeth (1845), Walker (1854), and Mary (1859). Also John & Betty Briggs of Unsworth, b~1822/3, and their son William (1842). Lastly 3 Walker Briggs's born in 1824/5, 1844, & 1854. From John & Ann Briggs ~1791, I can trace my side of the Briggs Family to today. Is there any information about or prior to JOHN & ANN BRIGGS; or any connections to any of the above.John & Ann Briggs are my great great great grandparents.
