Does anyone have any information regarding the Sheridan Family from Brindleheath Salford. My Grandfather was Edward Sheridan 1910-1962 he was the champion feather weight boxer in the area. He married my Grandmother Catherine Sheridan 1913-1981 nee Crooke they had 6 children Kathleen Edward Tommy Laura Anne & June. Also my Great Grandparents Edward Sheridan 1890-1931 and Laura Sheridan 1890-1930. My Great Granfather was in World war 1 with the 2nd Manchester Regiment he was sent to France and took part in the retreat from Mons. He was invalided home in Oct 1914 to Moss Field Place Brindleheath with severe bronchitis and later died Jan 28th 1931. They had 4 children Edward (my grandfather) Ernie Edna and Laura. His Granma was called Dora Charnley, who married one of the Bunn brothers and her sister who married the other brother Arthur Bunn. At the time of his death in 1882 he was living with Primrose in Darley Street. His son Edward Murray Smithson by Mary was born in 1876 in Bombay Street and was my grandfather. His son was also called Edward Murray Smithson born in 1905 in Coronation Street, Salford and was my father. I cannot find any details of the early life of James Murray, perhaps there is someone researching this family too as James is proving to be very elusive!
