I am researching the Pilling family in and around Newchurch. James Pilling was born in 1798 and married Anne Ashworth in 1822. Trying to trace back to James parents, John Pilling and Alice Hargreaves, but there are so many in that area with the same name. Has anyone been able to trace in back that far?
