red mail Redmond Perkins
Edward Redmond, born in Ireland (DOB about 1836), was a mariner and the son of James (also a mariner and deceased by 1875). In 1875 he married Mary Perkins and they had five children, Anne, Thomas, James, John and Joseph. He died sometime between 1884 and 1891. It is possible that he came from either Dublin or Arklow but nothing is really known for certain. If anyone else has some clues or a connection, please get in touch.

red mail Caunce
I am trying to trace my mother's grandmother's family. I think JE Caunce (died 10 Sept 1916 in France WW1)may be my grandmother's brother, born in 1899. Her name was Elizabeth Caunce (b.1900). Her sister's name was Isabella May, but called herself Constance. My mother called her Ducky. If the JE connection is correct, their parents live in Aigburth (WW1 commonwealth graves site), not far from where they lived in Northbrook Street/ granby? St and before moving to Rutland Ave in Sefton Park area. The grandmother was known as Margaret Caunce her husband was James)but her real name was Marguerite (she was of French & Scottish origin) and she had a sister, possibly Isabella May (surname Moody?), known as Lizzie, who supported the wholly female family with her musical ability, playing (in/at) the philharmonic and doing dancing demonstrations WW2. She seems to have been a bit avant-garde for the period. I don't know where James Caunce came from.
