My ancestor Thomas C Lopdell married Catherine Ryan in St. Anthonys church Liverpool in 1870. My grandmother Elizabeth was born in the flat above the shop, which was a confectioners. Have found the Ryans listed in trade directories, the property wasbuilt by Brummer Mond as John Ryan worked in the chemical factory. Family seem to have left that address by 1891 census. Catherine was the 16th child.

Ellen Mclean born circa 1829 Liverpool arrived in Australia circa 1842-44 unable to find her parents on death certificate father Mclean miner and mother Margaret, not sure if this is correct, as I have a possible as parents Mary and John. is there anyway of finding her parents on this scant bit of information. I do have an Ellen Mclean who arrived 1844 transported for 7 years to Tasmania who also born circa 1829 Liverpool but unable to prove she in my ancestor because of lack of parents name. Ifshe is the right one her sister Margaret was also transported to Tasmania in 1837 as a convict. Any help with the English side of this mystery would be gratefuly received Trish :-)

John WATERS and wife Margaret moved from Ludlow, Shropshire to Liverpool probably during the 1830s. He was a shoemaker. His son John WATERS moved there too, and married Eliza HENSHAW (born in Wirswall, Shropshire). John was a car driver and carriage owner on various census records, and they lived on Mount Pleasant St. in the mid-1800s. Their children were John Blackwell WATERS, Jane WATERS PERRY, Sarah Elizabeth WATERS, Wiliam Wellington WATERS, and Eliza WATERS HENSHAW. John and his sonJohn Blackwell WATERS owned a livery stable in the 1870s-1880s, and may have employed George STEVENSON as foreman, along with his sons Robert, Amos, and Colin STEVENSON. Jane married George Martin PERRY about 1872, and they had the following children before George died in 1886: George, James, Linda, and John PERRY. Looking for information on Edward Jones and Elizabeth Jones (nee Edwards). Both born circ. 1837 - Edward at Ruabon and Elizabeth at Bursham, Wrexham. Edward was a saddler by profession. They married at Wrexham Parish Church on 29.06.1857. Their father's names were James and Ambrose respectively. At the time of the marriage Edward was living at Wrexham and Elizabeth still at Bursham. Sometime after their marriage the couple moved to 48 Collins Street, Toxteth Park, Liverpool and on the 1881 Census are shown living at 6 Treborth Street, Toxteth Park, Liverpool with five children and one grandchild.
