In the 1851 Census for Stalmine dist.1a, p11 at Green Man Bridge there was the family of James Whitehead head Mar 57 farmer of 10 acres b. Claughton...Mary Whitehead wife Mar 57 b. Claughton (nee Greening)...Elizabeth Whitehead daur. Unm 33 - farmer's daur. b. Claughton...Jane Whitehead daur. Unm 30 - weaver b. Claughton...Thomas Whitehead son Unm. 28 - wool comber b. Claughton...Henry Whitehead son Unm 26 - wool comber b. Claughton... Hannah Whitehead daur Unm. 23 - weaver b. Claughton...Jame Whitehead son Unm 19 - farmer's son b. Claughton. Try as I might, I cannot find them in 1861. In 1871 James, Mary and Jane were back in Garstang Dist.5 p9 at Bradley Hill, Claughton, with grandson Thomas H Billington. Does anyone know where they were in the meantime? ANSWER FOUND. I found it on Freecen. I am hoping to find out more about my 3xgreat grandfather Thomas Helm. He was born in Bolton le Sands C.1800-1810, but later lived in Churchtown, Kirkland, Garstang. His wife may have been called Nanny and he had a son Robert who was a shoemaker.

Coupe at Barnacre
I am trying to find info. concerning Henry Coupe b: 1832 in Chipping. He married Margaret Gardner, and lived at Grizedale Lea, Barnacre, around the 1860s. They had 3 children, but M argaret died in 1874, and Henry died in 1880. Any info. regarding the births of the said children, would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Mary.

I believe my g.grandfather was George Holden. b:1805. His parents were William and Dorothy(nee Robinson) married 1795 St. Thomas Garstang. Siblings baptised in RC Church Scorton. I am trying to find any info. previous to this. Any help , greatly appreciated. Mary.

Does anyone ahve any information on the Marsden family of Hornby Castle. I have a book on the John Marsden's will and have been told that I am related to them but I can not find a link - the only J Marsden I have was born in 1805 and John and Henry Marsden of hornby castle seem to have died without marrying or having children.
