My mother Alice Iddon was born in Dalton-in Furness. Her father was killed during WW1. Her mother remarried a painter with the surname Glaister and they had a daughter Elizabeth. I remember my father taking me to a row house in Dalton and showing me a mural on the wall of the passageway from the front door inside the home that my step grandfather had painted. It was a scene of the lake district with a cottage on the hillside and he used to tell my grandmother that he was going to buy that cottage for her when he retired. He died around age 40. My mother was born April 1913 she married William James Smith from Barrow-in-Furness. Any infor on my dad's family. His mother died giving birth to him and he had several sisters.
