red mail Mary Marjorie Farrell
I am interested to learn of anyone having knowledge of the above lady who lived in Collyhurst in the 1950's. She gave birth to a son who was given the name David Farrell who was later adopted and his name changed. I married her son in 1977 therefore I am related to this lady by marriage. I would like to find out more about her and what happened to her during her lifetime. I would be very grateful for any information at all. I myself have a son and I named him in honour of her as she had originally given her son, my husband, the name of David prior to his name change at adoption.
red mail Smedley Road
Could anyone shed light on who built and owned the houses on Smedley Road, Collyhurst? My grandparents lived there & I have many fond memories of the area and the house in particular. It was demolished in the early 70's - unfortunately with a portrait of my g-grandfather still in one of the cupboards! Someone had forgotten to check the cupboard in the back bedroom. I know my grandparents rented the property - I remember the rent man coming around. Would just like to know more of the house history. Thank you.
