Speakman's in Cockerham and Pilling
I have a lot of ancestors from these two villages, from Gyles b 1603 to my grandfather Luke, b 1804. The Stork Inn at nearby Condor Green has a history of Landlords named Speakman, from the Cockerham and Pilling areas, but I am unable to find a connection with my ancestors. It is a fairly unusual name, and it seems inevitable that we are related. - Is anybody tracing the Condor Green mob? Cheers Alan

red mail Richmond/Cockerham
My g g grandfather James Richmond was born 1813 in Cockerham, Lancashire. His parent's were William and Sarah (nee Bond). I know he went to Scotland, and married my g,g,grandmother Mary McEachen and they had ten children together, but I believe that he was married before that, to Elizabeth Harrison and had two children. All I have on Elizabeth was found on a Scottish census, (1841) is that she was born in England, and both children (John and Thomasin) were born in Scotland. If anyone had any information , I would be most grateful Thank you! Wee Ann
