Speight
I am trying to find information on Agnes Speight whoes date of birth is around 1772 and she married Thomas Sandham on 7th December 1795 at Bolton le Sands Parish Church. I don't seem to be able to find anything else about her. There are others but no one that is a lined to her prior to her marriage. Thomas was baptised at Pilling on 4th may 1766. Agnes died in 1836 at Bolton le Sands.
Sandham
I am trying to find our Great great grandfather William's mother Elizabeth Sandham. William was born about 1831 in Bolton le Sands. In the 1841 census he is with Thomas and Bridget Sandham. He married Jane Edmondson in 1860. His son Robert was our great grandfather. Any information about the family would be appreciated.
red mail Makinson from Bolton
I have now confirmed that Mary Makinson (1795-1869) had two sisters Elizabeth (1793-1863) and Ann (1798-1871). Their parents were Daniel Makinson (c1770-1820) and Nancy Livesey (1770-1843). They married 28 Mar 1789 in Deane by Bolton. Daniel was in partnership with his brother John Makinson as a muslin and dimity manufacturer. Mary Makinson married John Haigh Junior, her sister Elizabeth married Joseph Hodgson (a close friend of the Haigh family) and eventually emigrated to Canada and Ann married the Rev Joseph Fox and had 3 sons and a daughter, including Daniel Makinson Fox, who became an engineer and designed and built the Sao Paulo Railway in Brazil.
