red mail Kirkham of Altham & Blackrod
I am looking for the baptism record for Alis Kirkham, daughter John Kirkham of Altham, baptised 02 Nov 1645. According to a summary record I have found on Ancestry, the entry is to be found on p. 48 Lancashire: Altham & Blackrod - Altham Parish Register, 1596-1695 and Blackrod Parish Register, 1606-1701. There is an Altham near Padiham, but this is 30miles from Blackrod near Horwich, so I cannot believe these 2 places would be in the same Ecclesiastical district. I can't find anything on Lancs OPC for St.Katharine's in Blackrod. Can anyone shed any light? Many thanks.

red mail Farrington family-Blackrod-Horwich-Bolton
I am interested in the Farrington family who lived in the Horwich area of Lancashire. I have positive links reaching back to William Farrington and Alice Clarkson who were living in Blackrod in 1713 when they were married at St Peter's Church in Bolton-le-Moors. I believe William originated from Higher Charnock (part of Heath Charnock) and would like more information on him or any other Farrington living in the areas surrounding Blackrod, Horwich or Bolton.

red mail Walkden family- Horwich, Rivington, Blackrod, Bolton
Gt.Gt.Grandfather Daniel Walkden b.1808 in Horwich, Lanc's and baptised at Rivington. I believe his parents were James Walkden and Nancy ( Ann ) Finch. It appears that his parents eventually moved to Bolton, Lanc's but Daniel married a Alice Fish in 1829 and lived in Blackrod, lanc's. The census's show that they lived and eventually died in Blackrod. One of their sons, Robert ( my Gt Grandfather ) married a Ann Walker in 1860 and they moved to Bolton, lanc's . They had seven children, one being my Grandfather Daniel Walkden b.1868 - 1925. He married my Grandmother Mary Shackleton and had two children, one being my Father Robert Walkden. Since Robert sr. the family remained in Bolton although my Grandmother's family originated in Burnley, Lanc's. If any of the above names and dates " ring any bells " I would love to hear from you and especially if anyone can make a definite connection with the original James Walkden and Nancy Finch.
