red mail Aspul & Lambert
I am looking at the family of John Walls c 1781 from Aspul - he had a son named Lambert, as did his son Peter Walls. I checked and found that there were other families with the first name Lambert in the same area and would like to find out the connection. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
red mail Sherringtons
Hi, I am searching for any information on any Sherringtons that lived in Scot Lane going back to the 1800's. I know my great grandmother Catherine Sherrington (Née Hart) lived in Scot lane with her husband William Sherrington. They had 8 children. But I believe there were more further back. Also where is or was School Lane. As Catherine lived there before her marriage? Thank you, Pauline

My early 19th-century Ainscough ancestors lived in Blackrod, Haigh and Aspull. All were miners. Info on the family welcomed and offered.
Searching George Wilcox b.c1849 d.abt 1945 married Martha Ann Browning 20/7/1868 Alverstoke Hampshire. Martha died December 1889 Portsea Island. There were three children Sarah, Ellen and William b.12/10/1882 d.24/9/1939 (Pukemiro, New Zealand - mining disaster)(my grandfather)he married Dorothy Seddon b.24/11/1883 died 25/1/1981 Dargaville, New Zealand m. 12/11/1898 St Elizabeth Church - in I believe Aspul or Wigan area. I have been unable to find William in any records I have accessed and although I have found Geoges dates I do not know where he lived. I would also like knowledge of Martha as we have only just found out her name. William I understand lived at 6 Brinsop Street, Aspull nr Wigan and Dorothy lived at 10 Scott Lane, Aspull nr Wigan. She talked of a bridge near where she lived and in 1979/80 it was still there as a doctor from England knew exactly where she had come from and the bridge separated the two homes. Does anyone perhaps know where this bridge would be and perhaps a photograph could be taken.
