Looking for any info on Hugh McEwan Muir & Margaret Hood m-1826 Glasgow. Found Hugh's parents in Paisley, John Muir and Annabella Stevenson. Have reason to believe that "son" Hugh b-1830 might be the half-brother of John Muir, the Naturalist, and son of Daniel Muir and Helen Kennedy.Looking for family in 1841 Census, Glasgow. 1851 Census shows Margaret, son, Hugh (born Kilmarnock?)& daughter Martha living at 66 Trongate. Margaret was a Tavern Keeper. She died in 1860 and is burried in Southern Necropolis, 31.01.1903 Lair 1082. Would love a photo of gravesite. Any help is appreciated! Best, Diane

My greatgrandparents were, according to their children's birth certificates, married on 10 August 1850 in Glasgow but I can't find an entry of their marriage - there is an entry of their banns read on 21 July 1850 in the Gorbals - their names were written as Michael Haggarty and Mary Cairns (I'm quite sure they are the same persons). I have found a brother of Mary's who lived with them in the 1861 census at 158 Orchard Street West, Govan and named John Kearney. I'm looking for a brother or sister of Michael's- his parent's were William Hegarty and Jane Dougherty and he was born in Co. Donegal. If I can find a sibling, I may find out exactly where in Co. Donegal he was from. This is my first major task that I've been trying to overcome for 3 years now. So if anyone thinks they may have information leading to confirmation of Michael's birthplace, I would love to hear from you.

I am daughter of Phyl (Ethel) Brennan, who had sister Pat and brothers Neville (in NZ), Brendan, Leslie, Noel and George (all dec'd). They had many children: Noel had Gerard and a daughter; Pat had two daughters Kathleen and Ann; Brendan had two daughters, Helen and Ann-Marie; Leslie had sons whose names I cannot remember but his wife was Jean; are any of my cousins and 2nd cousins still in the Glasgow area?

They returned to his home in Oxforshire, England after the wedding where she remained forthe rest of her life. After Thomas died in 1827, Margaret remarried a James Winfield on 15 Oct 1838 in Burford-With-Fulbrook, Oxon, England.

I am looking for information on George Roy Rankin and Jan(e)Rankin nee: Henderson before they moved to Canada. The information I have on George is that he was born 1818 in Glasgow Scotland and Jan Henderson was born around 1822 in Scotland. They moved to Pictou Nova Scotia Canada where they had 8 children. They moved to Canada by 1852 when their first daughter was born Mary Jane. Other children Jason Stewart, Margaret, Ida, Jason Henderson, George Duncan, Jannetta and Robert Robson. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Believed to have been at Duke Street Works Glasgow in late 1800's / early 1900's. Made Charabancs which were sold around the country. An ancestor bought one for use as passenger transport around the Knaresborough area, Yorkshire - Browns Bus Company. Any information about Caledon - either at the works, in / around Knaresborough or anywhere else in the country - and, in particular, a photograph of a Caledon Charabanc would be very much appreciated.

In 1864 he went to London and was attached to the staff of the "London Morning Star" in 1865. He was also for some years the assistant editor of the "London Daily News"

But he came to Bridgeton Scotland about 1900. He was born about 1885. Mary Moynes(nee Swinburn) was born in Scotland Bridgeton she was born around 1885 also. Don't know any of their parents name or if they had any siblings. They had 6 children born of their marriage. Searching for information on JAMES DENARD, born in Glasgow 1862-64. Father was David, mother Elizabeth. Siblings included Elizabeth, Maria, Peter, Joseph, Margaret. Lived on Garngad Rd in 1880's. David Denard died in 1913 in Greenock east. Maria diedin dumfries in 1949. James Denard came to Australia between 1881 and 1901, met Nellie Guernsey and had a baby - Alice Elizabeth Denard. Nellie died shortly after and James left the baby with friends,saying he was going back to Scotland to find workand would send for her. He was never heard from again. The baby was my great grandmother - I am trying to find out what happened to James (or find any living relatives) for my grandmother.
