Alice Wright
Alice was my grandmother and was a domestic servant in Wester Loan Milnathort in 1926. She had my mother in Edinburgh and put her up for adoption shortly afterwards. The father was listed as William Hall, a labourer from Leith (probably Newhaven) in Edinburgh. I am looking for any information on Alice Wright, no matter how little. I know that she moved to London and was a domestic servant there in the 1930s.
Simson, Maw Carse
James Simson and his wife Jean (or Jane) Coventry lived at Maw Carse when their children were born in the 1770s and 1780s. Other members of the Simson (or Simpson) family were land-owners living at Maw Carse, Milnathort, until about the 1920s. Property name is now given as Mawcarse. I am looking for any family members of my grandmother her name was Jessie Morrison she was born in 1885 in Milnathort Kinross to Arthur a baker and Jessie Morrison at Stirling Road. In 1901 Jessie was a domestic service to the Rev.A.Johnson Millar his old mother Agnes his wife Margeret and his 4 children. The rest of Jessie family still live at stirling road. Jessie was one of 9 children she was the 2nd eldest. In 1910 Jessie gave birth to my mother in Newilns, Aye, Jessie called her baby Elizabeth Millar Morrison mother and daughter never met again, as far as my mother knew. My mother was know as Lily Burns and brought up by Peter and Alice Burns in Kmarnock Aye, and didn't knew that Peter and Alice were not her natual parents. Why did Jessie call her baby after the Rev. was he a nice man to a young woman in trouble or was there more to it? Did Jessie move back to Milnathort after having her baby? In 1923 Arthur and Jessie (mum and dad) and one brother Daniel were the only Morrisons living at Sterling Road.
