Mr Caird, who lived at Parknook, was perhaps the largest building contractor in the county". ......Mr Chas. Caird, a well known builder resided at Parknook; and whose barn is now used as a place of worship by the Episcopal Church.

Who were the parents of Hannah STEPHEN b 1802? According to the history of Banchory-Devenick, Hannah Stephen died age 53 on 10 March 1855 Aberdeen, buried in the kirkyard of Banchory-Devenick with husband William EDDIE (a seaman b 1800 who d Hull 1836). Cannot find her birth/ baptism in IGI, nor her death cert on SP official website. Have searched both Banchory-Devenick (Kincardine) and St Nicholas (Aberdeen). They married 21 Oct 1821 St Nicholas Aberdeen. Two daughters Margaret Eddie 1822, Ann Eddie1825 in IGI b St Nicholas, Aberdeen. Two more found in censuses Barbara Eddie abt 1832, Hannah Eddie abt 1836.

Gracie was married to Samuel Davidson Fowler, a solicitor who left for Canada around 1910 and did not return. Gracie's maiden name was Proudfoot. She was born in Edinburgh. Her father was David Crawford Fowler city surveyor of Edinburgh. I am hoping to locate family photos.

David Smith died at Luthermuir in 1853. He was originally married to Ann Mill/Milne at Rescobie, Angus in 1817. After Ann died about 1824, David married Ann Ross in Marykirk parish, Kincardineshire. David has served in the Royal Horse Artillery Drivers from 1804 to 1814 and reputedly took part in the siege of Badajoz in 1812.

She was baptised in Kemnay, Aberdeenshire. William FINCHER, however, was born in England. But where? He was born around December 1801 and worked as a Stone Dresser. They had nine children all born in Newhills or Old Machar, Aberdeenshire.
