Name Patrick Curtin Mother Catherine Walsh Father Denis Curtin Patrick would marry Catherine, as previously stated, and they would have a son Thomas around 1891- he would marry BROSNAN, Mary, in September 1918 and they would have a daughter Mary, amongst many numerous others, in the coming years and she would die in England.

red mail Michael Henry Reardon/Riordan-Tralee, 1830s
I am trying to find other descendants of my Reardon family, including descendants of Reardons who never left Ireland. Michael was born in either Cork or Kerry in 1804. His parents were Michael Reardon and Catherine (or Bridget) O'Callaghan. His siblings were: Eugene, James, Catherine, William, Ellen (who later married Francis Healy), Robert and Elizabeth. Elizabeth was my great-grandmother, born 30 May, 1841 at Tralee. Their Baptisms are all recorded on the RC Killarney website. I think there was a connection, at least by marriage, with the MacGillicuddy family. Both Michaels were in the drapery and woolens business. The younger Michael's wife was Sarah Dwyer of Dyer--she may have been Dutch. By the 1830s the family was in Tralee and Michael was an early supporter of the Repeal of the Penal Laws in 1835. Michael Henry was Catholic and well-educated. Family tradition has it that he attended Trinity College, Dublin, and was an early member of the Young Ireland Party. There is also the tradition that he was connected to Daniel O'Connell, perhaps as a ward of O'Connell. I have found a Dr. John O'Reardon who was a first cousin of O'Connell and his personal physician. Michael Henry was persona non grata to the English Government and left for America with his family in the 1840s. He settled in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA, where he became a close friend of Lincoln's debate opponent, Stephen A. Douglas. Any information about this family will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
red mail Griffin-Huggard-Sullivan
My gggrandfather, Denis Jerome Griffin, was born in Tralee in Feb. 1864 and baptized at St. John's R.C. Church. His father, Denis Griffin (son of Denis Griffin) and his mother, Mary Sullivan (daughter of James Sullivan) emigrated with their family before 1870. They lived first in Springfield, MA and settled in Waterbury, CT before 1880. One of Denis Jerome's grandparents, Denis Griffin or James Sullivan, married a Protestant named Mary or Mary Ellen Huggard. Her family served in the British Army in Tralee and disowned her upon her marriage to a Catholic. Supposedly they eloped and a priest married them. I know she was related to a Stephen Huggard, who served in Egypt in the 1830's. (We have a letter signed and dated by him.)He would probably have been a brother since Denis Griffin and Mary Sullivan married in 1855. Any information on these families would be greatly appreciated. There was a connection to Ratass, where they may have been tenants.

They and their 4 adult sons (Thomas, Henry, James, John)& other family members emigrated to Canada ( Eramosa, Wellington County, Ontario )in 1832 on the barque "Brutus" Supposedly, a son Richard remained behind to look after family property ? He may have later gone to Canada but that is unclear at this time. Information is being sought for the TALBOT & OLIVER families whilst they lived in the Tralee area. In particular, who the two little Talbot girls, born in County Kerry belonged to. They were Ann b. about 1820 and Alice b. about 1821. Alice died aboard "The Brutus" Parish records would be either Church of Ireland or Methodist.
