red mail Thomas Brosnan m. Mary Daly 27 May 1870;
Hello there, my 2nd great-grandfather Thomas Brosnan was apparently the son of Patrick and Patrick is listed as a farmer on the marriage of Thomas with Mary Daly. On that marriage Thomas is listed as a 30 year old widow. Cant locate any baptisms of a Thomas Brosnan to a Patrick Brosnan in the right period? If anybody could help it would be much appreciated thankyou.
red mail HORAN, William- which was correct death?
Okay the ancestor in question is a William HORAN in Castleisland, Kerry, Ireland. With his spouse Margaret Marriage on 16 February 1856 he hag these children Catherine Horan of townland GURTEENDROMAGH 18561935 Catherine would marry a Patrick Curtin. Mary Horan of townland GORTEENDRINAGH 18591930 Mary would marry a Timothy Nolan. John Horan GURTEENDROMAG 1861 William Horan of townland GURTEENDROMAGH 1867 Patrick Horan of townland GURTEENAUGH 1868 Denis Horan of townland GURTEENDROMOCK 1872 The townland is clearly the same thing with various misspellings and seems to be simply Gorteen, roughly one mile away from Tullig where his grandson Thomas Curtin would get married to Mary Brosnan. But thats where the issue comes in- there are three William HORANS deaths which could be him and Ive hoped to narrow down his identity by working out his age at death and thus track down his parents. Death of WILLIAM HORAN in January 1885 Gurteendromagh farmer daughter Maria (Mary- its a catholic register so latinised the name) was present at his death. Group Registration ID 6017963 SR District/Reg Area Tralee Deceased Age at Death 61 Death of WILLIAM HORAN in 1911 Group Registration ID 5163178 SR District/Reg Area Tralee Deceased Age at Death 85 Sons John and Denis report and location is Tullig. Death of WILLIAM HORAN in 1894 Deceased Age at Death 80 Gurteendromagh daughter Mary at death. roup Registration ID 3986835 SR District/Reg Area Tralee The last William is rather old to have had children as late as the 1870s though Irish married late and males can carry on having children later than women so if he was a bit older than Margaret its possible even he was the correct William. Mostly think its the top one because Marys baptism also latinised her name to Maria and that one is the only realistic William actually in Gurteendromagh but WILLIAM HORAN in 1894 lists children both of whom have William and Margarets childrens names and the familys descendants were in Tullig and we dont know when they arrived. The top William is the most likely however. Can somebody with some experience with Irish genealogy work please help? The downside to the top William is that when he dies he was recorded as widower but no possible Margaret Horan died until well after him. This sort of destroys his own possible candidacy to be the correct William. The only likely Margaret Horan died in 1903 so William would not have been a widower.
red mail Marriage of THOMAS BROSNAN and MARY DALEY on 27 May 1870
Hello there, Parents are listed as PATRICK BROSNAN and CORNELIUS DALEY on the marriage in the Castleisland Parish registers. No record as to a marriage of either one of the parents and with Mary st unclear which one she was. Theres a Baptism of MARY DALY of KILQUANE on 1 September 1844 to Cornelius and his wife Honora; theres a Baptism of MARY DALY on 9 August 1846, Father CORNELIUS DALYMother MARY GOGGAN and a Baptism of MARY DALY of FAHADUFFE on 5 August 1835 Father CORNELIUS DALYMother HELEN CONNOR this one seems a bit too old but some of my Irish ancestors were old compared to my British ones when they married and would have a lot of kids even with that. There are no Marys in the Kerry area spelt DALEY to a Cornelius, or rather there are none registered on the parish registers. Any help would be much appreciated. Thankyou!

red mail Theresa Brosnan
I am looking for information on my grandmother born Theresa Brosnan in May 1925 to Bartholomew Brosnan and Mary nee Griffin in Castleisland/ Tralee I believe she had 2 siblings John and Mary, they all traveled to England together ? London ?Birmingham and I believe Mary Emigrated to America. My Grandmother then moved to Leicester and unfortunately died quiet young at 50 years old in Jan 1976 leaving little or no information of her background. Her married name was McNulty (James) apparently from Dungiven, Londonderry. Any help would be much appreciated
red mail CURTIN, Mary 19th November 1921- 11th July 2013 dau Thomas and Brosnan, Mary.
Hello, tried hiring a professional genealogist to trace this and we'll just say that didn't quite work out. Mary was registered 20 November 1921 Tralee, and we've got a copy of the actual registration. She was one day old when registered there. Her parents were CURTIN, Thomas, who was a farmer and BROSNAN, Mary who sometimes went by the common nickname Molly. They married seemingly in 1918 Tralee. Mary died on 11th July 2013 in Peacehaven, Sussex, England and was buried at there. In England, she had a relationship with Leslie Robert George GAULD and had children although she did not marry Leslie. He died 1954. She married Herbert Thomas GALLIERS in 1958 and had no children with him. He predeceased her. She worked as a mental health nurse, which was how she met Leslie. Can anyone please help with Thomas and Molly as other than their 1918 marriage there's literally nothing on them and what was given was speculative and contradictory and thus it's not useable on the family tree. Thankyou.
red mail John Sullivan
I have been researching my great great grandfather John Sullivan for sometime. He was born in Buttevant Cork in the early 1820s and was in the Army, 33rd Regiment, being stationed in Carlisle, England at the time of the 1851 census. According to his army records he left the army in1864 intending to reside in Castleisland. Any information would be most appreciated. Margaret from New Zealand
red mail CURTIN, Mary, 19 November 1921 the daughter of Thomas a farmer in Parish.
Helllloooooooooooo I have finally got the secretive paternal grandmother's details; Mary, who lived between 19 November 1921 and 11 July 2013 was the daughter of Thomas, who was a farmer in either Castleisland or Brosna or Tralee. I have her marriage certificate to Herbert T Galliers. She had children with Leslie Robert George GAULD, who died 18 November 1954 in Sutton. She then married Herbert T Galliers in Wandsworth 11 June 1958. She had never married GAULD as he'd died whilst they were engaged and he'd been divorcing his current wife Mary Sarah Egan. Herbert would die in January 1983. Or something like that. I was wondering whether anybody could give any details about Mary's parents as sadly there's absolutely no indication of Thomas' age just that he was CURTIN and a farmer and I know Mary was from Kerry- though the marriage certificate doesn't give a precise location. Thank you so much in advance!
