red mail Famiy of Joseph Moss - (Greenhithe - Kent)
I'm looking for any information on Joseph Moss b.) 1796 in Greenhithe, Kent. He Married Sarah b.) 1800 and relocated to Leicester, Leicestershire about 1838 where his oldest son Archer was born in 1839. I would especially like to find out the names of his parents and siblings and to know if there are any descendants of this family still around in the area. Also, to know where the family originated, Dartford, Grunkste, Ramsgate, etc. For that time period Joseph seems to be the only Moss that I can find born in Greenhithe. Any assistance would be most appreciated.
red mail Moss Family of Greenhithe/Swanscome - (Greenhithe - Kent)
Moving right along, lol. Research has brought me here. I'm looking for any Moss families in the Greenhithe/Swanscombe area who have roots in that area that date back to the mid 1700's. My ancestor James Moss was born somewhere in England in 1750. He married to Susannah Webb at St. Mary Woolnoth Church in 1789 in Middlesex, and he died in 1801 in Swanscombe. Susannah was his 2nd wife as he was listed as a widower on the marriage record. I don't know if James had any children from his first marriage but he had the following children with Susannah: Jane b. 1790, Sarah b. 1792, James b. 1794, Elizabeth b. 1795, William b. 1797, Alice b. 1798, and Joseph Webb Moss b. 1800. James may have had two brothers in the Swanscombe area as well, William and Samuel Moss. There were a number of brick makers, brick layers, Hosiery hands, and Knitters in this lineage and it appears that the family moved up and down the A5 (the Roman Watling Street). There are many descendants of this family in the Buckingham and Leicester areas too, from the mid to late 1800's. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

red mail sargent family halstead place - (Halstead - Kent)
Can anyone tell me for certain whether John Sargent born 1750 was born at Halstead PLace? Some sources seem to indicate he was, but others show that his father (John Sargent born 1714) did not buy Halstead Place until 1771. I have also found an entry on the IGI showing that John's brother George Arnold Sargent was born in Putney in 1748 (a year before his parents were married!), and George is also referred to as John's `elder brother' in one source. But George is not to be found in Putney IGI Batch numbers though there are lots of other Sargents there. Where on earth did the Sargents live in 1750?!
red mail Skinner from Kent - (Halstead - Kent)
John Skinner (born abt 1812) married Sarah Jane Smith, (born abt 1816) on 12 Oct 1834 in Halstead Kent. They made application for free passage dated 5 Feb 1840 no 6949 embarkation number 4208 (agents E H WARRINER) John described as agricultural labourer. They emigrated with their 2 children to Australia on the 'Orleana' from London 29 - 02 1840 via The Downs. Details I have about children of John Skinner and Sarah Jane Smith - Son John's baptism on 5 Jan 1837 appears in the Orpington parish registers (abode marked at Orpington), and daughter Sarah Elizabeth's baptism on 21 April 1839 in Chislehurst (abode marked as Foots Cray). Sarah's birth appears in the GRO index in the June quarter of 1839, district Bromley, volume 5, page 38. I am looking for any info at all about them before they came to Australia. My information is getting more accurate but This is my BIG brickwall!!!!
