I have visited the new Flying Horse Inn in Wye. My husband's great grandfather ran it for several years between 1891 and 1901. Someone in the family has stated that the builing it is in now, is not the origional. Anyone out there know if this is true?

Does anyone know off 1) Sarah Smith who married William Hawkins in 1791 they had two children John 1791 and William 1796, Sarah died 1798 of consumption. 2) Elizabeth Barrett who William married in 1799 they had nine children, both girls were said to OTP on the Wye fiche. Thank you.

I am looking for info on the Basson family who lived in Wye. Father was a brick maker. My grandmother was a Basson from this family who married and moved to Herne Hill in London around 1900. She had a stepsister called Jessie - not sure if it was the mother or father who married twice.

Foreman, Ensor Walter
Ensor Walter Foreman was born in 1869 in Wye. His father John Foreman and his mother Emma Wood married in 1848 in Wye. John's parents were John Foreman and Mary Wood married in 1818 in Wye. Ensor was no. 10 of 11 children. He was in the East Sussex Constabulary for two years during which time he married Elizabeth Cottingham in 1892 in Newick.
