red mail A house called "Auckland"
I am trying to establish whether or not something my Nana had said is correct. In the 1960's my Aunt and her husband went on a tour to the UK. On a coach trip through Kent, on the main road they spotted a house called "Auckland". It seems it looked to them like a holiday cottage. Anyway, upon returning to NZ they mentioned this to my Nana who said her Uncle, William George Eugene PURCHASE lived there and called the house "Auckland" after the fact that my Nana and her family had settled there, in NZ. Does anyone know of a house by that name in Whitstable and/or of the the surname Purchase?
