Looking for any information about a Weaver family living in this area, specifically Samuel and Sarah Weaver b. 1826 and 1853 respectively.
red mail Frances William/Richard/David Freeman
I am researching the Freeman family of Kent. Francis William was born in Welling in 1886. I think he was my husband's grandfather. My mother-in-law says she thinks he was born in London, but he died when she was small after being discharged from the army in India. His father Richard was born in Tonbridge or Tunbridge in 1835. Richard married Mary Eliza Strudwick in 1862 at North Cray. She was from St Mary Cray. Richard gives his father's name as David, but I can't find any record of this person. Also Richard states he was a Widow before he married Mary. Who then was his first wife and were there any children from that marriage?? Also we think there may be a connection between these Kent Freemans and Northampton? I would be grateful for any help.
red mail Hill/Leich/Leech/Leach
My father's sister married an EDDIE LEECH (or variation) round about 1915. She was MARGARET HILL of Compton Street, Clerkenwell. They had two sons, EDDIE and perhaps LENNIE. I would like to find the two boys or their children to compare family notes. I think they lived in Welling at least for a time, as we did. Ivy.
red mail Michael Howell
Trying to find Michael Howell, brother to Norman Howell, son of Edith and Alfred. Really would love to locate him. He would be either in his very late 50's or early 60's now. Believe he is living in Kent area.
red mail WW1 MEDAL
My uncle dug up a WW1 service medal in his garden -this belonged to a C Piper who was in the Queens RWK Regiment. I have purchased the correct ribbon to go with the medal and would love to return it to relatives as I believe these medals are precious items to be kept within the family concerned and not sold for profit. Please email me if this rings a bell with you. Would need proof of ancestry before parting with medal (am sure all will understand my reasons for this). Susan.
red mail Where were Reeves Cottages?
An ancestor is shown to be living in Reeves Cottages, Welling, in 1881. Can't find the location of these cottages anywhere, and wondered whether anyone could tell me where they were situated. Many thanks.
