Any information would be greatly appreciated especially about James and Janes parents.

red mail Desperately Searching for Rose Eliza Hyland 1860's
My Gt Grandmother proves elusive. Family story had her born in Dublin but then living in a private London hotel with an Uncle named French, a retired army officer. When he died his pension went with him and Rose was destitute. I first find her on 1891 census working as a cook in Batley Yorks and in June 1891 she marries William Pullan in Kirkstall Leeds. On this and subsequent censuses she give birthplace as Tonbridge, Kent (or could be Tunbridge?) Apparently she spoke with a refined accent - ie not Yorks or Irish. She is not the Rose born East Farleigh as I have found her father alive and also her marriage. I did find a Rose Hyland born Dublin 1865 dau of William, blacksmith - same as the details on her marriage cert - and Bridget Molloy but can't find this family travelling to Kent and she did always use her middle name Eliza. Exact yr of birth mystery. On 1891 census aged 23, on marriage 1891 aged 24 on 1901 aged 34 on death 1932 aged 68!!! On 1911 my Gt Grandfather has omitted her age. Any snippet would be hugely welcome!

red mail What Happened to Frederick Packham
My gggrandfather was Frederick Packham (in an earlier entry, I list him erroneously as Benjamin), born in Mayfield Sussex in 1838. He was the son of Alfred and Sarah Packham. The family moved to Tunbridge Wells sometime in the late 1840's. Frederick married Ann Vidler in 1864 and they had 1 child, Benjamin. Ann later married John Neal Jeffrey in 1970, apparently thinking Frederick had died, and they immigrated (with Benjamin) to Indiana in 1871. Oddly, according to the 1871 Census in England, Frederick was alive and staying with his parents - his occupation is listed as 'engine driver' (ie, he drove a train) which could explain long absences. Frederick seems to have disappeared entirely after 1871, although a death record suggests that he died in Tonbridge in 1895. If anyone is related to this line of Packham's, and/or might have stories, or history, I would be delighted to share.
