I am researching my 4xgreatgrandfather's brother William born Cliffe but moved to Oare in 1810 with parents Ancel/Anson and Isabella. The moved were moved in a settlement order in 1818 to Chislet but William returned after marrying to Oare and lived in MILL Cottages Oare for many years before moving again to Faversham. His son also William lived in Mills cottages after that with wife Elizabeth. Any information on this family appreciated especially William Senior's first marriage. He remariied a Rebecca Gurr in 1832 and census shows them living in the Mill cotts.

red mail Oare, Doddington, Newnham
I am looking for any descendents of John Tickner (1760) and Martha Young. They had 5 boys, Stedman Knight Tickner 1789, Thomas Tickner 1792, William Tickner 1798 , James Knight Tickner 1799 and Edward Tickner 1802. At some point they moved to Hollingborne and John and Martha died within a month of each other in 1804. I am descendent from Stedman Knight Tickner who moved to Wingham near Canterbury. the others appear to have stayed in the Doddington, Newnham area. I have wondered if there is a connection with the workhouse at Hollingborne since the youngest boys were very small when their parents died. Hope to hear from you. Lynda
