red mail Aubrey Harold Ford 1908-1977
My father Aubrey Harold FORD, known as Henry FORD, was in the Queens Own Royal West Kent regiment and post-war in the TA. I wonder if anyone has any knowledge of him during WWII, or during service in the TA, maybe through records of their own families at the time. I remember he went to camp with the TA until the mid to late 1950s. I do have a certain amount of official record, but it is incomplete in some respects. Thank you for any help you are able to give. Belinda
red mail Elizabeth (Bessie) Brown born 1885 in Scotland
My great-aunt, she was the youngest daughter of Hawthorne James BROWN (Brough) and Jemima MCNEILL both born in Portabello, Scotland. Her siblings were Mary McNeill BROWN(1868 - 1950), Hawthorne John BROWN (1873 - 1949), Margaret Home BROWN (1876 - 1970, Francis Reid BROWN (1880 - 1963), Jemima BROWN (1882 - 1957), on all of the above I have much information to offer. In 1901 Bessie was living with the rest of the family in Horton Kirby, but I cannot trace her thereafter. Her father was a papermaker, also other male siblings. My grandmother (Margaret BROWN), who married into the ROGERS family (grocers and drapers at Sutton at HOne) often mentioned her in the 1950s/1960s so I am hoping that she did not die young. I can find no trace of her marriage or death, but she might have returned to Scotland. Any information would be so good, thank you. Belinda
