Please can anyone advise me how to obtain a copy of the Bethersden Parish registers. I have heard of a book named "The Bethersden Baptist Beginnings" by Kenneth Howard but so far have been unable to obtain a copy.My main interest is in the Haffenden family, who came from Bethersden originally.

Looking for information on Sarah Adams b. 1790, from Bethersden. She married a John Ellis who was from Smarden, Kent. They left for America about 1826. They first settled in Schenectady, New York. They rented a farm there from 1826-1830. They also farmed in Saratoga until they moved to Wisconsin. There were 9 children. Thier children were: William, Jane, Robert, John, Amy, Elizabeth, Jabez, Sarah, and Thomas. Would like to know more about John and Sarah, and hopefully find thier parents names. Thank you

Our Mary Ann Barnes, born about 1830, married in London James Pleasance born 1822 in Cotton, Suffolk. Their daughter Temperance married into the Higgs family. James and Mary Ann were Hassock Makers. I am looking for information on Thomas MILLEN b.c. 1813 in Bethersden, Kent and his wife Sarah Capeling b.c. 1814 in Pluckley, Kent. Thomas died (drowned) 12/12/1849 leaving children Albert, Eliza, Sarah, Elizabeth and Editha. Sarah subsequently married Edward Elgar a shoemaker in Bethersden.
I'm looking for information on my g-grandmother. Her name was Alice Elizabeth (maiden name unknown), she married Thomas Moses Skinner baptized 1 Nov 1868 in Peasmarsh, Sussex.They lived at Oakhurst Corner, Bethersden, until 1950s. Alice died in 1947 aged 77 and is buried (sadly) in an unmarked grave at Betherden. Their children were Gladys, Ethel, Fred, Jack & Hilda (Betty). It is possible, although unconfirmed, that Gladys & Ethel were from a previous marriage by Alice to ? Booth. I'm having problems because I cannot find any births on the BMD Index. Any help wuold be appreciated.
