red mail Chalkley family
Many of my ancestors, the Chalkleys, came from the King's Walden area. The direct line includes Robert (wife Sarah), Richard who married Elizabeth Westwood and John who married Hannah Folds and later Eliza Curtis. Anyone else doing research or have interest in these?
My great grandmother was HARRIET THRUSSELL who was born at King's Walden on 28.3.1853. Her parents were ROBERT THRUSSELL and MARTHA KILBY. Robert Thrussell was a gamekeeper. Her siblings were:- SARAH; MARY ANN; BETSY; CHARLOTTE; MARTHA; ALICE; CHARLES, FREDERICK. Robert Thrussell and Martha Kilby were both born in King's Walden so the family were not given to moving about. I am trying to find the reason for Harriet's move to Kent where she met JOHN WILLIAM BRENCHLEY and married him. Did the whole family move there or was it only her looking for work? Any contact with interested researchers to exchange information would be most welcome.
