My 3 x great-grandparents Hannah HODGES and Thomas GARRETT married at Woolhope in 1794. Hannah HODGES was born c 1771 and she had an elder sister Susannah b c 1765. Thomas GARRETT was born in Clodock, Herefordshire, c 1762-5. I have a brick wall concerning the parents of both Hannah and Thomas and should very much welcome any help.

Then, William c1839 of Woolhope married Harriet, unknown surname, c1843 - (born Bolstone). There children: Edith c1868 - Woolhope, Hannah c1869 - Woolhope, William Charles c1871 - Woolhope, Clara c1873 - Woolhope, George c1875 - Woolhope, Agnes c1877 - Woolhope, Leonard c1880 - Woolhope, Rhoda c1884 - Woolhope, Ernest c1885 - Woolhope, Then, William Charles c1871 of Woolhope married Martha Jane Baker 1876 - (born Ledbury). The Census for the above years shows Charles and Ann Watkins as teachers at the above school.They were my husband's great grandparents and I would appreciate any information about them and about the school.Their marriage cert. shows his occupation as 'cordwainer' and I wonder how he became a schoolmaster. Was it a charity school or a church school or something? Charles was born at Evesham and Ann(Tarplee) was born at Bengeworth Four of their 5 children were born and christened at Woolhope but left the area for work.
