red mail GURNEY of ROSS
I've been track a line to Ross for a while, the birth record for one of these people in 1851 indicated the mother lived at Brampton Street. Following a lot of smaller matching details I am confident that other Gurneys given at census in the same street are related to my Anne Gurney who I suspect might have been an unmarried mother. My gg grandfather Alfred born 1851 might also have had an older brother George born 1845. At very least the family I am now tracing appears to consist of Joseph (b.1782) and Sarah Gurney (b.1790) and several children Harriet, Maria and (maybe) Amelia, WIlliam, maybe others. Any pointers from those in the area would be great. Alfred's father might have been a William Watson who was a blast furnace keeper in Ross or the area in general in about 1850. Cheers.

There are a number of Maddy families all over the Ross area and I am wondering if any of them have any information relating to the Maddys as I am researching the name. There was a family of Maddys who were living at the Kings Head in Ross during the 1800's and other parts of the family who were Saddlers and Wine merchants in Hereford.
