Looking for any information on Mary WINKWORTH of Chilcomb. She had a daughter Ann b. 22 Feb 1823 who was baptised Ann COMPLIN d/o John COMPLIN & Mary WINKWORTH. On Ann's daughters birth certificate she is Ann GWILLIAM late LANE formerly WINKWORTH so at some stage she must have changed from her fathers surname (which she was baptised) to her mothers surname. John COMPLIN didn't marry Mary WINKWORTH even though he acknowledged that he was the father of Ann on the baptism and he didn't acknowledge either Mary or Ann in his will when he died in 1837. I found Ann in Shropshire in 1866 when her daughter was born but haven't found any trace of Mary WINKWORTH since Ann was born in 1823.

I found out that Annie E Mills married a Walter F PILL in 1918 and that there were 3 children. 1. Walter,2 Rodney and later on in South Africa David in 1924. We would love to know more about Annie and if there are photos of her and Ernest. We believe there are descendants still living in the Portsmouth and Gosport area. red mail Farleigh Farm and Manor Farm, Farleigh Wallop - (Farleigh Wallop - Hampshire)
Does anyone know anything about FARLEIGH FARM or MANOR FARM both in Farleigh Wallop near Basingstoke, in the 1850-1870 period? From 1850 to about 1867 Farleigh Farm was run by a ROBERT BROWN and family; it comprised about 60 acres and employed lots of labourers and carters all living on the farm, as well as three domestic servants and a children's governess. Robert Brown was born about 1808 in East Halton, Lincolnshire, and in 1848 in North Cambridgeshire married SARAH SHILTON BROCKLEHURST (a sister of my great great great grandfather); their first child, Alfred, was born in March, Cambridgeshire, in 1850 and soon after the Browns moved to Farleigh Farm where a further five children (Arthur, Mary, Robert, Walter and John) were born between 1851 and 1859. But Farleigh Farm does not appear in the 1871 census. Coincidentally (perhaps) Manor Farm which did not appear in 1861 does appear in 1871, and is run by a WILLIAM BROWN and family - who, going by their children's birthplaces, moved from Somerset to Manor Farm between 1864 and 1867. Add to this that a Robert Brown of the right age died in Stockbridge, Hampshire, early in 1867, and it seems possible that William Brown was related to Robert and took over Farleigh Farm on Robert's death and renamed it Manor Farm. Does anyone know?
red mail WYNN and SYMES - Farleigh Wallop - (Farleigh Wallop - Hampshire)
I'm trying to find out about the school in this village. My father went with his sister to live with their grandparents, James and Caroline WYNN in Faleigh Wallop for a while in 1918 after their mother had died. I remember him telling me about how all the children of different ages went to the same school, so I imagine it must have been in the village. I'd love to know more about it. Any ideas how I could access any school records from then? If anyone knows anything at all about the village, I'd love to know. I think they lived in Bard's Lane, or some name similar. He and his sister were named SYMES.

red mail Baseley , Besley - (Farnborough - Hampshire)
- Seeking information on my gt. grandmothers first husband James Parry Baseley. At a young age (18-20) my gt. grandmother Lillias Gibson, travelled from Stirling, Scotland to southern England to marry James at Farnborough in 1867. Family lore suggests he may have been stationed at Stirling Castle where they may have met. Regretfully, he died one year later in 1868. Lillias or Lily was in Scotland but I havent been able to locate James in the 1861 census so any details of him, his parents, or siblings would be greatly appreciated.

"Lacarrick"/"Lacarrech", Four Marks - (Four Marks - Hampshire)
I am looking for the location of this house in Four Marks. It was given as the address of my mother's half-cousin, Horace Hambling, when he joined the Army in 1916. His wife Gladys also lived there. His occupation is given as "shop assistant". If the house still exists, the name was probably dropped on the advent of house numbering but I hope that someone may remember its whereabouts? Perhaps it was near shops that existed in Four Marks at that time. Thank you.
