I wonder if anyone has access to the Hampshire Telegraph newspaper for the years 1927/8. My G Grandfather William Reed of 9 Nelson Square is mentioned on 3 occasions the dates are 11/3/1927, 27/4/1928 and 4/5/1928 apparently he fell in his garden and an inquest was to be held but I have no idea of the dates. Any help would be most appreciated as I live in Western Australia. Craig

Does anyone have any information on Horace Lane. He is named on my fathers Index card as his father. My dads mum was Elizabeth Amy pink born in Colemore in 1900.Dads name was Donald George Pink born 4thMay 1923 he stayed at Woodlands Albany Rd Portsmouth till his adoption 1925. Horace address is stated as (looks like) 50 Ulany St. Landport and was a stoker.His parents were Edward and Clara Lane he had two sisters and three brothers.

Trying to find what happened to John Lasseter who married Eliza Barker in the 1830s I think. He appears to have fathered several children between 1837 and 1847 (at least one of whom was born in the workhouse) but I can't find him in the civil registers or the censuses. He was a shoe maker/cordwainer.

Im looking for any information on Edward Roberts,father of Frederick william roberts.On Fredericks marriage certificate he is mentioned as the father but deceased and he was a dairyman. I now that they all lived at 54 Abercrombie street, landport in the early 1900's, if anyone has any information it would be very greatly apprieciated.Also i think Edwards wife was called Annie.

Nora GROUNDSELL married William James SUTTON, then Arthur Sidney Hubert SEARLE. She was born in Landport, her original name turns out to be Julia Isobella Ivy Nora DOYLE, born Sept 1894. Her mother was Ellen (Nellie) WEDGE, her father is a bit of a ? as it is given as John DOYLE on her birth, but John GROUNDSELL on her marriage. Ellen was the daughter of Shipwright Edward WEDGE born Warblington and Elizabeth May STROAD or STROUD, born Bognor, Edward later married Amelia JOHNSON after Elizabeth's death. Edward was the son of Edgar WEDGE cordwainer born Emsworth, Hampshire 1806, and Rebecca.Have not traced Elizabeth Stroud/Stroad's family.

My great great greatgranfather was called Joseph Othen he Married Caroline Spencer. They resided in Landport. My great grandmothers name was Dorice and her brother was called James. Their Farther was called Charles Edger Othen. If anyone as any info on the above it would be great to hear about it.
Looking for lost family members of the Johnson family (RC's)who came from Landport/Portsea/Portsmouth from 1900 to 1940's. Michael Johnson and Sarah Rebecca Johnson (nee Durney) had a son called Thomas Johnson born 1906 in Landport. Michael Johnson was a dock worker before WW2 and became a corporal in the Hampshire Regiment. They might also have moved from Landport to live in Portsmouth and were a large family, I only know of one other brother whose name might be either Jack or Jim and that he was in the Air Force. Any info welcome.
