GILBERT family in Gosport and Sopley
GEORGE GILBERT born January 1875 was killed in 1918 and his name appears on the WWI memorial in Bemerton near Salisbury where he is buried with his wife EMMA BATCHELOR. A short story of his life will appear in the Quidhampton Village Newsletter in October 2018, the 100th anniversary of his death. My co-researcher and I would welcome contact from any member of George's family who may like a copy of the newsletter or have photos to share.

On her marriage she appears to have moved to Guernsey where most of her family were born. However, she does appear to have returned to Portsmouth now and again, travelling also to London on business.
